I'm a scorpio and yes, I enjoy the sensual aspects of interpersonal relationships. However, I am not, by default, a ho. I'm not a depraved hedonist ruled by my sexual cravings. I don't chase skirts or treat sex like it's a game. I'd rather have intimacy in a relationship than a booty call. And I am a true scorpio.
While it's true that scorpio is the sign of vices, that simply means that we may all have different types or degrees of vice. It is also true that we scorpions are layered and complex. We are keepers of secrets, although we share when appropriate. We are also finders of secrets and highly intuitive, making us natural detectives. We are loyal to family, friends and lovers with the fullness of our beings.
If you think that you know a scorpio, think again, you might not know them as well as you thought.

mean girls
I can't believe it, but there seems to be an epidemic of mean girls. We all know them. They're catty, jealous and petty. They treat people like their subjects and they move with manifest destiny, consuming whatever they desire like locusts. They are adept at gossiping, forming cliques, bullying and backstabbing, the stock tools of mean girls...and they revel in meanness. As ridiculous as it should seem, I know two sets of mean girls.
The first set that we'll tackle are the ones who initially inspired me to write this, the mean girls at my job. There are two young women who have taken it upon themselves to make life at work miserable for at least one of my other co-workers, or at least try their damndest. One is even in a position of power and authority, which she abuses like a megalomaniacal student-body president, and the other is her loyal-enough crony. They use their influence to block promotions and raises, ensuring spots for their friends and lackies, thereby perpetuating the mean girl-cycle. This is the existence of the Plaza mean girl.
The second set of mean girls live on the first floor of my building...well, one does. She constantly lashes out at another neighbor with impunity and without any real and justifiable cause. She will also draw any company that she has over into the fray, be it sister, cousin or friend. They have vandalized property and threatened violence. These are hoodrat mean girls.
The label of ridiculous is verified by the fact that all of the aforementioned mean girls are- with one exception- of legal drinking age, far too old to be engaged in the the meanness which seems to be innate for them.

fire and ice
the path of human cultural evolution is marked by the footsteps of fire and ice. we, arguably, wouldn't be who we are if not for these two. they are the immediate foundation of two of our greatest achievements as a species: science and agriculture. the "discovery" of fire itself is possibly our crowning scientific accomplishment, as many of our innovations throughout human history have been either enabled by it or involved it directly. ice, or rather the melting of glaciers gave humanity an abundance of fresh water, giving our ancestors the ability to leave behind (for the most part) a nomadic, hunter-gatherer existence for a more rooted, agricultural lifestyle. from this were developed systems of ownership and subsequently wealth. with a steady and reliable food source, the human race had something new: free time. in our free time we have created and evolved myriad arts and sciences. we have come to domesticate and breed animals for food and companionship. we cultivate plants for food, medicine and beauty. we have extracted elements from the earth and shaped them into charms, idols, weapons, pottery, crowns, shackles, musical instruments, jewelry and skyscrapers, to name a few. the combination of fire and ice's other self, water, has given us a culinary repertoire not safely imagined by our hunter-gatherer ancestors. yes, the path of human cultural evolution is markedly marked by the footprints of fire and ice.
i want...
i want to be hers...to feed her soul and quench her thirst. i want to be her captive audience, applauding her every performance. i want to be her faithful servant and lifelong attendant. i want her to be my main and my side chick. i want to be her yoga mat and her pilates machine. i want to be her richter-bringer and rain-maker, father time to her mother nature. i want to hold her hands and rub her feet...kiss her lips and drink her sweet. i want to fall for her for the rest of my days. i want to light her fire, become a moth and hurl myself headlong...is this madness? if so, then i want to be mad.
